“Suicide Note” Graffiti Marker abstract on 3ft x 4ft recycled Canvas (2017)

Artist Statement: The abstract is created by using different colored graffiti marker, Droppers and Pens and different hand styles. Each hand style and color represents a Veteran I knew personally that took their own life. I thought what didn’t they say, why did they believe the world would be better off with out them. I explored what was going through the heads of many of my Military friends I’ve lost to Suicide, I just kept writing off the top of my head. While exploring my own demons. Turning the canvas and writing. Camouflaging the words with more words. I felt most of us tend to do this currently, we cover up our mental illnesses, with more words and dark humor and the universal “I’m Fine”
